Judging: Compare and Contrast
Judging all together has many similarities. Whether youre the judge reviewing a students work to pass an English class or youre a judge on a reality show, the basic aspects of judging the work is similar. They are similar in the way that youre given an outline of requirements you must meet in order to pass the course and receive a credit or in the case of a reality show, project runway for example, youre given what type of look to design. Also, most judges are looking for unique and creative pieces of work. Your writing must have it’s own voice and should be logical. Designers must be creative and have there own touch to every design because no one wants a piece of clothing that’s already been made. Allthough there are many similarities between these two judging panels, there are also differences. For instance, when a judge is reading a students essays, they must be able to understand the piece of work theyre reading. When a judge is reviewing a dress that a designer has designed, they don’t really have to understand it. As long as the clothing is unique, creative and is pleasing to the eye but still meets the look the judges want, the designers pretty much safe from being eliminated.
