In the television series of Top Chief and Project Runway, the contestants are judged in some similar and some different ways. First off, these shows both stress uniqueness and individuality. In top chief, the contestants need to make food that is unique and still tastes good, and in Project Runway the contestants need to design dress and clothes that haven’t been seen before. Next, the judges both look to see if the work done is quality work and not something just throw together. This ties back into writing because the judges of our papers look for quality work and if the work is unique. Now on to the differences between the two television series. Both shows expect different things from the contestants, just like our instructors expect different work from us. Also, as a student we always have another chance to improve our work, while in the television shows, you mess up, you might not get another opportunity to show your work off to the judges. All in all, the similarities between the television shows and students work surpass the slim differences.

In the articles I read they were looking for the writers to pull from their own experiences and some how tie that into the writing. The "judges" or "critics" of these articles also wanted the papers to have some critical thinking aspects to them. The judges wanted the articles to make you thnk while staying to what you where assigned to do.
ReplyDeleteThey wanted the writer to show focus and creativity, just like in Top Cheif and Top Model. Also in both they wanted the challenges to be unique to push the people to do better and see how well they can do. In both they also overlooked somethings. For example if the contestant pused the limites or rules of the competition or paper a bit they let that go. They did this because they have to when they expect someone to be creative.
