project runway: welcome to los angeles
out of all 3 of the episodes i believe this episode really deffined what the judges where looking for. This episode started of with men and women from around the world being brought in to test the fashion skills. There first task or challenge was to make a red carpet look to show true inivation with the artists own taste. The artits were given pre-assigned models and there measurements along with $200 and a half hour to shop for materials. After the designing began you could tell the artists were confused because they didnt all no what "red carpet" ment. So some did what they were told and gave there dress or outfit there own sense of style and true inivation. Sense the host Tim Gunn was walking around reminding the artists thats what the judges would be looking for. But when the judging came aorund it seemed like what was said what what was ment by that were 2 different things. The dresses the judges liked were all things that resembled popular dresses that were already worn on the red carpet witch would take away from the true inivation that they were looking for. And in the end the girl who created the most out of the box outfit was sent home because the judges said although it is okay to aim outside of the box it is another thing to miss completly. And the other guy who was not eliminated, his dress didnt follow any of the guide lines and the judges flat out said that it was something that could not be worn on the red carpet. So the judges on this show are not looking for something totally outside of the box but something that alters the modern look of runway to there own taste. In general keep the long dresses, the open backs, the front v-necks, but add eligance and texture.
