Goals and Outcomes for Portfolios

For the Portfolios I will be looking for you to notice key terms, and questions you may be asked by your readers. In your writings you should include examples from different sources which may include published texts or The Student Guide to the First-Year Writing Program. You must be able to put in and possibly explain so that your readers may understand your piece is background information, brief summaries and examples. Finally you need and must have correct grammar in your writings. How I would judge these writings is by if they catch my attention right away and if it keeps me interested throughout the whole paper. Also I would be looking for how many different examples they used in their writing and if it seems as if they took time to explain why they used a certain example. I would judge this way is because you do not want to have to read a paper that is dull or does not relate to anything or can grab your attention. Having a little bit of spice in your paper is never bad.
