Project Runway Episode 3- Rumble on the Runway

At the beginning of this episode, you find out the contestants are going on a field trip to the beach. When they arrive at the beach, they meet Tim Gunn and a bunch of models they are going to have to design beach ware for. Their challenge is to create a fun and fashionable surf wear look; in doing so they want the models to have the perfect hair style, so Garnier is going to do the hair styles for the models. In this challenge they will be working in teams of 2; Logan, Nicholas, Mitch, Althea, Crystal, Johnny and Shirin will be the team leaders. At the beach they have 20 minutes to think of an idea/decide on the vision they are looking for and to choose their models. When they go to their fabric store (Mood), they are given a $50 budget but only 15 minutes to shop. To make the challenge even more exotic, they decided that each team would have to create a second look that will conspire with the beach look. This type of look is called an Avonguard look. They will have the night to think about an idea and to keep working on their first piece. They will receive a second shopping trip, but for this one they receive a $200 spending limit and 20 minutes to go shopping. The trick to this shopping trip is that only one team member is allowed to go from each team. One of the models from the show, however, decides to take a commercial deal and will not be present for the fitting so they choose a new model named Valarie. Max Azira, Ninah Garcia, and Rachel Bilson were the guest judges for this challenge. The winner of this challenge was Ra'mon, and for the first time in Project Runway history someone from the winning team was eliminated and Mitch happend to be that guy.
