In class this week we learned about how important first sentences are in a paper. That got me to thinking about how a first sentence is like a first impression. Your first impression tells those you meet what you are like and if they want to hang out with you. The first sentence in an essay tells the reader what the paper is about and if it's interesting enough to read. This is just another way english relates to the real life.
