group 2

Layout and Content are two elements that Nicholas Carr used to show the layout of this paper. Materials, in my opinion, is the most important element in this paper. Carr uses different materials to get his point across to his readers such as pictures and text inserts. It's the small details that draw the reader into the paper and keep their attention. Without them the essay looses some of its excitement. Details are also what gives the author more options in their paper. It gives you something to elaborate on which makes the paper more unique.
Content is also vital to a paper. It is what the author is actually talking about and where they include all their facts and information for the reader. Carr does this with the use of illustrations and by inserting texts. for example, Carr is trying to get the point across that people are moving at a million miles an hour and never slow down to actually read the information. he shows this with a drawing of a cop in a Lamborghini stopping a man walking on the side of the road with a book, a sign next to them reads "minimum speed 186,282,397 MPS. Another style of content Carr uses is by paraphrasing and quoting other's such as "2001 Space Odyssey."
I think the style that Nicholas Carr used in his paper was extremely effective. Carr uses huge bold letters to signify the start of a new paragraph which really draws the readers attention in. Also by writing the paper in thin columns it makes each paragraph seem shorter, thus actually readable to the average person who might not completely care about this subject. Incorporating pictures and page breaks gives the reader a chance to rest their eyes from constant reading. I think his unique writing style makes Nicholas Carr a great author for this article.
