In both show it seem that both set of contestants are pushed to the limit by getting "heads up information at the last possible second. This make the show much more dramatic. What also helps this out is the over the top music and reactions of some of the judges or other people involved. With eliminations held ever show the contestants must be on thier A game a 100 percent of the time no one i really prepared for these callenges and this is shown by the suprizing twist and turns that seem to happen every minute. Both Top Chef and Project Runway seem to be an organized rollercoaster of dramtic twist to make the audiunce feel like that the contestants have no way of being able to be prepaed for these events. But in both shows you can find a type of dramtic irony because the events and challenges that these men and women face are propusaly focused on thier profession to make them feel like it should be easier when it only adds to the difficultly. Many feel like if they were in that situation the could be succesful when its only a cover to trick you into beliving that winning the grand prize will be easy.
